St Andrews Day 2014

Last night The Stow Caledonian Pipe Band entertained an audience for the St Andrews Dinner and Dance at Walthamstow Social Club.

The evening began with the address to the haggis recited by Piper Richard Elworthy and piped by Pipe Sergeant Paul Burgess.

After dinner, the guests were serenaded with a Piobaireachd played by Piper Lachlan MacDonald followed by a few tunes on the fiddle by Piper Greg Robbins.

The full band had several performances throughout the night which received great reactions from the audience who later joined us in the Gay Gordons and Strip the Willow.

It was an amazing night which helped raise £130 for UK Borderline and the Waltham Forest Pensioners Christmas Party.

The only thing left to say is... Happy St Andrews Day!

Remembrance Sunday Parade 2014

The Stow Caledonian Pipe Band were privileged to once again lead the Walthamstow Remembrance Day Parade to commemorate the fallen.

The parade began outside the William Morris Gallery and followed the band down Forest Road to the Town Hall where a ceremony was held.

Members of the council, Royal British Legion, cadets, local scout groups and organisations were all present at the event that takes place annually in November.

We were honoured to have such an important role on the day however it is not to be forgotten that the community were gathered to remember the glorious dead who fought for Queen and Country.

Lest We Forget.
